The Baltimore Ravens improved to 1-1 after defeating the Cleveland Browns, 14-6. It was the home opener for the defending Super Bowl champions.
After surrendering 49 points in the season opener against the Denver Broncos, the defense came to play. Cleveland’s offense scored no touchdowns.
The Ravens offense was not spectacular, but did enough to get the win. A Bernard Pierce touchdown run put Baltimore in the lead in the third quarter and a Joe Flacco touchdown pass to Marlon Brown helped seal the victory.
Running back Ray Rice left the game in the fourth quarter with a hip injury. However, Pro Football Talk reports that the injury does not appear to be serious. Rice suffered a hip flexor strain and no MRI is scheduled.
