Planned Hooters Party Costs Middle School Football Coach His Job

Plans for a football awards dinner at Hooters have cost Randall Burbach his job as head football coach at Corbett Middle School in Portland, Oregon.

According to KGW, Athletic Director JP Soulagnet wrote a letter to parents informing them of his decision to cancel the party and to remove Burbach from his position as head coach.

Read the letter here.

Apparently, a parent voiced his concern about having a school-sponsored awards banquet at the chain restaurant.  Soulagnet agreed with the parent and told Burbach to move the event.

According to the AD's letter, Burbach "was unyielding and emphatically said no for a number of reasons."

Coach Burbach has no regrets and refuses to be bullied by "the vocal minority."

Besides, Hooters is perfect for a group of 13-year-old football players.  Seriously.
