Paul McCartney and Steve Winwood are among the stars featured in the new documentary "Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train A Comin'." In a RollingStone.com sneak peek of the film, both McCartney and Winwood praise Hendrix as an extraordinary talent.
The film also includes interviews with former Hendrix bandmates Mitch Mitchell, Noel Redding, and Billy Cox; Hendrix's studio engineer Eddie Kramer; and others; as well as commentary from Hendrix himself.
Previously unreleased performance footage, home movies and photographs, letters, and drawings add to the presentation of Hendrix's story. Jimi's sister Janie Hendrix describes the film as "an in depth look at the life and legacy of Jimi" through his own words and the memories of those who were close to him.
"Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train A Comin'" will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 5th - the same day it airs as an episode of PBS' "American Masters."
