Warren Haynes is kicking off his concert salute to the Grateful Dead's late frontman.  He's set to begin his "Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration" tour with a show in Pittsburgh tonight.  Over the course of the nine-date trek the Allman Brothers Band guitarist will team up with local orchestras to perform Garcia's original songs along with classical interpretations of his work.  JamBands.com adds that Warren will play Jerry's famed "Wolf" guitar during the shows.

The tour is starting with five shows in the Eastern U.S.  Stops in Lennox, Massachusetts and Philadelphia later this month will also feature a psychedelic visual accompaniment from The Joshua Light Show.  Warren will spend most of July with Gov't Mule in Europe, and resume the Garcia trek with a performance at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado on July 30th.  He'll play the first of two shows in Garcia's hometown of San Francisco on August 1st -- which would have been Jerry's 71st birthday.  The road trip will come to a close in Los Angeles on August 4th.
