Pearl Jam is part of an impressive group of artists who are encouraging fans to do their part in the fight against world hunger.  Eddie Vedder and the guys have signed on for the new Global Citizen Tickets Initiative along with My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon, Soundgarden, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Kanye West, and many more.

The program allows fans to earn points by raising money for participating charities and other forms of social activism, which will then be put toward a ticket lottery.  For the reward, participating artists have agreed to donate two tickets to every show they play for the next three years.  Fans can get more information or start earning points now at GlobalCitizen.org/tickets.

Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis tells "Rolling Stone" he came up with the Tickets Initiative along with Global Poverty Project chief executive Hugh Evans while they were planning last year's Global Citizen Festival.  The New York City concert event was headlined by Neil Young, the Foo Fighters, and the Black Keys, and raised one-point-three-billion dollars in pledges for the world's poor.
