Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bad Company will be hitting the road together.  The two groups have mapped out a 13-date co-headlining U.S. trek, which will begin in Auburn, Washington on June 20th.

With the collaborative trek both bands are marking major 40th anniversary milestones.  Skynyrd released their debut album, in 1973, while Free's Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke, Mott The Hoople's Mick Ralphs, and King Crimson's Boz Burrell came together in 1973 to form the supergroup Bad Company.

The touring lineup of Bad Company will feature Rodgers, Kirke, and Ralphs with guitarist Howard Leese and bassist Todd Ronning.  Burrell died in 2006.

Both bands are looking forward to the tour.  Skynyrd frontman Johnny Van Zant calls Rodgers one of his favorite rock singers, and adds that he and his bandmates "have a deep appreciation for Bad Company's music."

Rodgers says his history with Skynyrd dates back to the '70s and the days and nights at the Hyatt House on Sunset in L.A.  He also credits his current health and happiness to Skynyrd, because the Southern rockers introduced him to his wife, Cynthia.
