Courtney Love facing another defamation lawsuit

Just a few weeks after a victory in her "Twibel" trial, Courtney Love is facing another defamation lawsuit.

"SPIN" says her legal team was back in a Los Angeles court Thursday, attempting to stop a lawsuit from fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir.  Simorangkir filed her suit last year after Love made comments about the designer on "The Howard Stern Show" and the social media site Pinterest.

Love's lawyers tried to argue that the libel case is meant to "chill" the Hole frontwoman's constitutional right of speech, but the judge didn't agree and denied their motion to strike the suit.  A case management conference is now set to take place at the end of April.

This isn't the first defamation lawsuit Simorangkir has filed against Love.  She sued the rocker for comments she made on Twitter back in 2009, but the dispute never made it to trial because Love agreed to pay $430,000 to settle it.  However, Love did go to trial earlier this year for tweets directed at her former attorney.  The jury decided she wasn't liable for the posts in what was the first U.S. trial involving defamation on Twitter.
