Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi Reveals Who He Wants To Work With

A decades-old joke just might come to fruition. Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi tells Classic Rock magazine he and Tom Jones have been discussing a collaboration.

The guitarist says it stems from a 1988 Kerrang! magazine April Fool's story claiming Sabbath had tapped Jones to be the band's new frontman.  They were supposedly working on a concept album about a monster that comes to a Welsh mining town.

Tony says he's met Tom "a few times," and during one conversation Jones mentioned the fake article, adding that "it's not a bad idea, is it?"

Iommi adds that he likes Jones, and that he'd "actually like to do something with him.  It could work."
