The Doors' John Densmore says he's hoping his upcoming book will open doors between him and the other surviving band members.
In The Doors: Unhinged, the drummer chronicles his legal disputes with Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek.
But Densmore tells Billboard.com his goal with the book isn't to create additional friction between them. He admits that his relationship with Krieger and Manzarek has been "rather strained," but says he shares in the book how he "can't not love them" for what they created together.
John adds that he's not sure Ray and Robby really know about the ridiculous things that folks were saying on their behalf during the legal proceedings, or what he went through at the time.
He says he's hoping "Unhinged" will serve as "an olive branch," and can start a dialogue between them.
The Doors: Unhinged is due in stores on April 17th.
