Obama Names First Female Secret Service Chief

President Obama is appointing Julia Pierson to head the U.S. Secret Service.  She is the first woman to head the agency.  The post does not require Senate confirmation.  Pierson is a veteran Secret Service agent, and replaces Mark Sullivan.  Sullivan recently retired after dealing with a scandal involving Secret Service agents and prostitutes in Colombia.  The agents were doing advance work ahead of a presidential visit to Cartagena last April.
