One World Trade Center becomes tallest building in the Western Hemisphere

(New York, NY)  --  Welders have just finished installing the spire atop One World Trade Center in lower Manhattan.  The installation of the 408-foot spire officially makes it the tallest building in the western hemisphere.  The tower located at the northwest corner of the World Trade Center site now stands a total of 1776 feet, in honor of the year America signed the Declaration of Independence.
