Manning Sentenced, Could Be Eligible For Parole In About Ten Years

(Fort Meads, MD)  --  The soldier who handed over hundreds of thousands of documents to the whistleblower website WikiLeaks will be eligible for parole.  With good conduct, Army Private First Class  Manning could be eligible for release in about ten years.  Manning was sentenced this morning to 35 years in prison following his conviction last month on multiple charges related to the case.  Manning will be credited for the three-and-a-half years he's already spent in jail.  He will forfeit all pay and will be dishonorably discharged.  The Manning case is widely considered to be the largest leak of classified information in American military history.
