At 9:00pm ET, all four iHeartRadio stations simultaneously aired an interview with Alicia Keys, who talked about her new album on the eve of it's release, Girl On Fire, with Elvis Duran, Cubby, DJ Clue and Helen Little.
Alicia then took the reigns of New York City's beloved skyline, switching the Empire State Building 'on' as her song began to play.
As each station played Alicia's new single, also titled , "Girl On Fire," followed by her smash hit NY anthem, "Empire State Of Mind, Part II," the Empire State Building lit up brilliantly with LED lights choreographed specifically to the music.
It was the first synchronized light show of its kind to take place on the Empire State Building's facade, created by Philips Color Kinetics, and it certainly won't be the last. The Empire State Building previously implemented the new LED lighting system on November 6, when the lights reflected results of the presidential election.
Alicia was elated as she watched, squealing with delight and exclaiming, "It's playing my piano!"
Watching the Empire State Building light up with GOF and Empire State of mind was BEYOND my wildest dreams!! instagr.am/p/ShLUoVwFow/— Alicia Keys (@aliciakeys) November 27, 2012
