Mandy Moore has landed her next acting job.  The singer-turned-actress has signed on to join a new CBS pilot called "The Advocates," playing the female lead opposite "Southland" actor Ben McKenzie.

The news comes less than a week after Mandy exited an ABC comedy pilot called "Pulling," stepping aside after both she and producers agreed she wasn't the right fit for the role.

"The Advocates" centers on Moore's character, a lawyer named Shannon Carter who teams up with a former con-man to fight for the underdogs at the edge of the law.

According to Deadline.com, her character is described as a "take-no-prisoners" attorney who learns about her tragic past connection to an unjustly incarcerated man.

Mandy's past television experience includes guest roles on shows like "Entourage" and "Grey's Anatomy."
